SONY Metreon Entertainment Center

Construction Cost: $400 million

The 400,000 square feet entertainment center project includes 15 theaters including a SONY•IMAX theater, restaurants and retail shops.  The center also includes the first ever Microsoft Playstation. 

KKCS provided various construction management services, including progress assessment, schedule analysis and claims analysis.  Our analysis of the project determined that it was behind schedule and developed recommendations that brought the program back on line, enabling the Metreon to open as anticipated.  KKCS personnel assisted with critical path schedule assessments, cost estimates, change order logs, and staffing profiles.  KKCS helped track material deliveries to accelerate installation.  Monthly reports were prepared, advising management of variances and suggestions of how to meet deadlines.  Results of site inspection visits for physical progress were incorporated into the monthly status reports.

 

Rehabilitation of U.S. Treasury/Embarcadero Center

Construction Cost: $20 Million

KKCS provided cost estimates for two separate renovation projects, the Embarcadero Postal Center and the U.S. Treasury Department.  The project consisted of renovation and other rehabil- itation work at the 390 Main Street complex for the United States Postal Service, including demolition, building modifications, utilities extension, fire/safety/security systems, site develop- ment (roads, paths, lighting, and landscaping) and administrative areas.  The Embarcadero Postal Center project included the first and second floors, basement, and parking.  The Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Treasury work included the 5th and 6th floors, complete with laboratories.
