Federal Transit Administration

The FTA is an agency within the U.S. Department of Transportation that provides financial and technical assistance to local public transit systems operating buses, subways, light rail, commuter rail, trolleys, and ferries. The FTA now invests more than $12 billion annually through its Capital Investment Grant Program to support and expand public transit in the U.S.

Since 1999, KKCS has provided project management oversight (PMO) services on behalf of the FTA on these large and complex transit project nationwide. KKCS acts as the eyes and ears of the FTA to monitor for best management practices and achievement of the project objectives including scope, cost, schedule, quality, and safety. This involves assessing the grantee's technical capacity and capability, scope/cost/schedule baselines, and risk management.

KKCS' PMO services emphasize sound project management and project control structures to ensure that public agencies execute projects efficiently, safely, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Project management oversight services have been performed on behalf of the FTA for the following grantees:
