On July 24, 2014, KKCS was awarded a professional services contract for General Engineering Services (GES) for the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART). BART distributed the GES RFP on December 2, 2013 with the proposal submittal date on January 21, 2014. The proposal process yielded proposals from 10 different firms. Six were shortlisted for oral presentations, including KKCS, and BART’s Board of Directors voted to award contracts to each of the 6 shortlisted firms.

KKCS was an incumbent in this competitive process, having won the previous three BART GES contracts. In association with architecture firm, AE3 Partners, KKCS built a strong and knowledgeable team of experts and professionals, which included 22 subconsultants of which 10 are DBE’s and 5 are world class engineering firms – CH2M Hill, HDR, HNTB, Jacobs and Stantec. Prior project experience demonstrating the team’s capability cited BART projects such as El Cerrito Stations Modernizations, Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension Project, CCTV and Security Infrastructure, Vehicle Procurement and Earthquake Safety Program. The proposal process culminated in a signed contract and numerous BART projects in the works. This award continues KKCS’ success and speaks to the firm’s responsiveness and efficiency in project delivery, which KKCS has built its reputation on. “KKCS is proud to continue to have the opportunity to support BART through this and past GES contracts. This contract is vital to the success of BART, KKCS, and the community in which we both live and work,” said Dev Krishnan, President of KKCS.
