Rahmet Beshir - Cost Estimator on LA Metro's Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project
Rahmet Beshir serves as Cost Estimator on LA Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project. She is a cost professional with experience performing estimating assignments for LA Metro, the Port of Los Angeles, and general contracting projects. She estimates the cost of additional/change scope from the original contract and prepares cost analysis on contractor’s proposals for construction changes. Her work is crucial in cost negotiations. Rahmet has been with KKCS since August 2019 and graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. She is currently pursuing her MBA degree with a concentration in Project Management and is looking forward to graduating in March 2022.
Rahmet considers her professional strengths to be great attention to detail and problem-solving. What she enjoys about her job the most is that she has the opportunity to view the whole aspect of the project. Rahmet believes that there is a lot to learn with every task, which makes work fun. Before joining KKCS, Rahmet worked with LA Metro’s Estimating Department to prepare change estimates and analysis for various projects.
When asked about what she likes about working at KKCS, Rahmet says, “I really enjoy working with KKCS members, who are super friendly and helpful. Everyone I have met so far is so kind and welcoming, and I hope to meet more soon. The services provided reach different fields in construction, and that is always exciting to be a part of.” When she is not working or studying, Rahmet likes to travel and explore new cities (post-COVID), hike to beautiful views, enjoy the sunset, and discover new roasteries and coffee shops. She is also a tea enthusiast and even blends her own tea mixes. Rahmet recently started gardening and also likes to spend her free time with friends and family.
