PG&E - Project Controls Services

PG&E is one of the largest combined natural gas and electric energy companies in the U.S. and operates and maintains more than 140,00 miles of electric distribution lines, 18,000 circuit miles of interconnected transmission lines, 42,000 miles of natural gas distribution pipelines, and 6,400 miles of transportation pipelines. Substations are critical junction and switching points connecting PG&E’s transmission and distribution systems across Northern California. PG&E’s substation group handles numerous substation projects annually including retrofits, replacements, and new construction.

KKCS has provided project controls services to PG&E on more than 200 projects with values ranging from $400,000 to over $200 million. Representative projects include $200 million in replacements and retrofits to the Mission Avenue Substation in San Francisco, $30 million in replacements at substations in Moraga and Santa Cruz, and a $50 million project to upgrade the PG&E grid with a network of synchrophasors to improve system data reporting. Project controls services provided to PG&E includes cost engineering, schedule engineering, document management, as well as project cost and schedule analysis and reporting.
